Jarvis looks beyond the numbers to find commercial solutions

Three years after joining Total E&P Australia, Jarvis is using all the resources that Total has to offer to find the best commercial outcomes for the company. Whether working with the strategy and economics team in Paris or the business development team in Perth, Jarvis is seeking to identify the most value-adding options for the company.

A drive to find value

Any given day can provide a broad set of challenges at Total, where providing economic analysis and commercial advice is all in a day’s work for Jarvis. A typical day can involve providing advice on the commercial aspects of Total’s onshore interest in the South Georgina Basin in Queensland and assessing the economics of new business opportunities.  Jarvis has found that working for Total has given him exposure to a wider range of commercial transactions and challenges, helping to broaden his skills and expertise.

A wealth of experts at the ready

Working for Total has seen Jarvis interact not just with his colleagues in Australia, but with others working in his field around the world. He believes that this provides him with a unique perspective of the oil and gas industry, something that is harder to achieve in smaller companies without a global reach and such deep industry experience.
