Total partners world-renowned Australian Chamber Orchestra

Total is proud to announce that in 2015 it will again be a National Tour Partner of the world-renowned Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO).

Sponsoring the moving Reflections on Gallipoli performance that will tour Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra from March 14-27, this will be the third year that Total has supported the ACO.

David Mendelson, Managing Director of Total E&P Australia, said the partnership reflected the long-term commitment Total has to Australia and the communities where it invests.

“As one of the world’s leading oil and gas companies, Total appreciates that technical excellence, hard work, creativity and innovation are important drivers of success,” Mr Mendelson said. “When looking to form a flagship arts partnership in Australia, it was just these attributes that attracted Total to the Australian Chamber Orchestra and its unique and exceptional musical performances.”

Directed by Neil Armfield, one of Australia’s great storytellers, the ACO’s Reflections on Gallipoli tour will be a moving tribute to the battle on the Gallipoli Peninsula that occurred 100 years ago this year. The performance explores the Gallipoli story through music, accompanied by historical images and film intermixed with live camera, with actors Yalin Ozucelik and Nathaniel Dean recounting letters and diaries of young soldiers.

Mr Mendelson added, “Proud of our French heritage, Total is especially pleased to support a performance commemorating the important battle of Gallipoli in World War 1, a war which united Australian and French soldiers in a common cause.”
